Rudy Fernandez: “I still see myself at my best this summer, at the World Cup and then we’ll see”

At 37 years old – he was born on April 4th, 1985 – Rudy Fernandez sees himself playing in the next World Cup. Will it be the end of the international career of the Spaniard ?

Rudy Fernandez received a trophy at the AS Sports Awards, which also rewarded the tennis player Rafael Nadal and the soccer coach Carlo Ancelotti, and it was on this occasion that he said :

“The Games are far away, I still see myself at my best this summer, at the World Cup and then we’ll see. I used to say with Rafa (Nadal), that at 37-38 years old you go from day to day, you do not think further.”

With the Spanish team, Rudy Fernandez’s record includes two silver and one bronze medal at the Olympic Games, two gold medals at the World Cup, as well as three gold, one silver and one bronze medal at EuroBasket.

Moreover, in terms of news, Rudy Fernandez and Gabriel Deck will be back in action for tomorrow’s Euroleague game against ASVEL. Rudy as he is called in Spain had injured his wrist on September 24 during the SuperCopa and had undergone surgery.
