Multiple Greek sources are reporting that the coach is close to an agreement with the Turkish club.
According to reporter Spyros Kavalieratos, a former member of the Greece basketball federation, the current coach of CSKA Moscow will soon sign for Fenerbahçe.
Because of the uncertainty surrounding Russian clubs in the Euroleague, the Greek has apparently been tempted by a safer option given by the Turkish club. Itoudis is also the current coach of the Greek national team.
Greek outlet Sport24 has also confirmed that everything was set and only a formal announcement was missing.
Itoudis will then replace Sasha Djordjevic. The Serbian coach has failed to qualify the club for the Euroleague and has made his future much more incertain in Turkey.
